CAI-PNW Australia Exchange with Brisbane Hiking Club May 12th – May 26th, 2025

We will be staying with hosts of the Brisbane Hiking Club while in Brisbane.

We are looking at 3 excursions for three days each to the following:

  • Girraween National Park

  • Fraser Island

  • Lamington and Springbrook National Parks

These are the possible day trips at or near Brisbane:

  • Walking tours of Brisbane (several areas of city)

  • Mount Glorious

  • Tinchi Tamba Wetlands

  • River cruise and Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

  • Story Bridge Walk (this is a cable walk on the bridge structure)

This looks to be a full and busy agenda for two weeks. (14 days) The hikes will all be of an easy to moderate pace.

We identified the expenses for the exchange to be approximately $125 per day, per person or $1,750. The exchange rate is very favorable to the USD. (1 AUD = 1.63 USD)

We require a deposit of $1,000 per person upon approval of the leader with the balance due on or before April 10, 2025. 

There will be a refund, if cancellation, minus any prepaid non-recoverable expenses.

Not included in the trip: air transportation, local transportation, entrance fees, drinks or food outside the trip itinerary and any items of a personal nature.

The number of participants is limited to 12 CAI-PNW Members.

Also, it is our intention to pay for any host drivers expenses which include fuel, lodging and meals.
