Edmonds Urban Walk
It was a “Chamber of Commerce” type of day today in Edmonds!
Fourteen CAI PNW members explored various sites in the greater downtown area ... including the Farmers Market, artists’ murals on the sides of buildings, the Edmonds Marsh, the pier, Edmonds Waterfront Center, Brackett’s Landing, and Graphite Art Gallery.
We kicked off the day strolling through the Farmers Market. Each of the vendors is a family-owned business growing and raising all the produce they bring to the Market. Next we marveled at the creativity of local artist’s mural painting on various buildings in the downtown area. CAI-PNW member, Joel Patience, painted the wall mural, Edmonds to Starboard, an absolutely gorgeous painting! Our next stop was the Edmonds Marsh which occupies 22 acres and is one of the few urban, tidally-influenced saltwater estuaries remaining in the Puget Sound area.
After much walking and touring it was now time to enjoy our lunches at the Waterfront Center along the Puget Sound. What a great place to enjoy lunch, watch the ferry and visit with our CAI friends. After lunch, we walked over to Brackett’s Landing where we were entertained by local resident, Gary Larsen, known around town as “Bubble Man.” He creates HUGE bubbles with wooden wands! On our way back to our cars, we popped into Graphite Arts Center where we enjoyed watching local Artists.
A special thanks to co-leaders Becky Morgan & Rob Wingfield!
