Pass Lake Loop at Deception Pass

After days of gale force winds and rain, we had a perfectly sunny day to hike Pass Lake at Deception Pass State Park. Our friends from Il Punto (Seattle’s Italian Cultural Center) joined us.

Leader, Bart Pestarino, led the group of 30 hikers through the forested route around Bowman Bay up the hill and around the Pass Lake Loop for a 3.5 mile loop.

Working up an appetite after our hike we enjoyed a cook’s potluck at Deception Pass State Park, The potluck rules: only home-cooked dishes or dishes purchased at a specialty store (bakery, pastry shop, charcuterie shop, butcher, or cheese shop.

The potluck was truly a feast with a variety of homemade, salads, focaccia bread, rice and beans, Armadillo Sauce Piquante made from chicken, sausage, and mushrooms, homemade pickled cucumbers and carrots and delectable desserts! A special thank you to Alessandra Arosio (Il Punto) for bringing your Nespresso coffee maker!
