Join Kendra for this 4.3-mile loop trail considered an easy route.
Starting from the trailhead, the trail descends a few steps before a gentle uphill hike. After a short, steep climb, the trail levels out, then crosses a paved road.
Keep your ears open for the tapping sounds of woodpeckers! The trail soon reaches the highest point on the Loop Trail, with a viewpoint near the old chapel that overlooks the South Meadow. As you cross the meadow, keep an eye out for eagles. The views improve with every step along the meadow's southern edge.
Approaching a sandy area, you'll find a bench offering a great view toward the south end of Puget Sound, with parts of Magnolia and West Seattle visible. On clear days, you might see Mount Rainier in the distance. The Loop Trail then winds through two heavily forested canyons. As you continue, you might glimpse Mount Baker to the north.
Specific details will be emailed once you have signed up.
